QPF: Many Waters Rise: Lyrics & Poetry Panel

Presented by Queensland Poetry Festival

"Anything I can sing, I call a song. Anything I can’t sing, I call a poem. Anything I can’t sing or anything that’s too long to be a poem, I call a novel."
Bob Dylan, jacket notes Freewheeling Dylan
Join legendary multiple-ARIA award winning songwriter Archie Roach, acclaimed Canadian spoken word artist & musician Moe Clark, and Grant McLennan Fellowship recipient McKisko - who has been praised for her abstract lyricism - as they explore the relationship between verse and music, the places where lyrics are born, and poetry as song.
Hosted by 4zzz’s Ian Powne (The Stress of Leisure.)

Archie Roach

"My lyrics draw attention to the hardship and humiliation suffered by many Indigenous Australians"

Sydney Morning Herald

"McKisko's voice is so full of raw intensity that it packs a heart-rending punch. Even on the more uptempo songs there is a warped broodiness lurking just under the surface."
